Edgewood Stabbing Leads To Attempted Murder Charge
An Edgewood man is charged after officials said he stabbed and injured a man he knew.

EDGEWOOD, MD — An Edgewood man is charged with attempted murder and other offenses in connection with a stabbing that happened Monday. Officials said he and his victim were both treated for injuries at Upper Chesapeake Medical Center in Bel Air.
Stefon Antonio Hayes, 32, of Edgewood, has been charged with attempted second-degree murder, first-degree assault, second-degree assault and related offenses in the stabbing, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities allege Hayes stabbed a 29-year-old Edgewood man in the upper body around 11:30 a.m. in the 1600 block of Candlewood Court. The victim was taken by a private citizen to Upper Chesapeake Medical Center for treatment, where officials said he was being treated for injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

Detectives learned another man had walked in for treatment at Upper Chesapeake at 12:30 p.m. with what looked like a stab wound on his hand, for which he was treated and released.
The victim and Hayes knew one another, and investigators said they arrested the 32-year-old without incident, took him to the criminal investigation division for questioning and charged him.

Hayes is being held without bail at the Harford County Detention Center.
