Edgewood Teen Charged with Attempted Arson

Neighbors reportedly saw 19-year-old pouring gasoline in front of house.

A 19-year-old Edgewood man faces charges including attempted arson connected to at attempt to torch a porch after a domestic dispute, the state fire marshal reports.

Timothy Scott Rogers, 19, of the 600 block of Buoy Court, is charged with attempted first-degree arson, failing to obey a reasonable/lawful order, resisting arrest and reckless endangerment.

The fire marshal said that at 10:54 p.m. on Wednesday, June 3, a neighbor saw Rogers pouring what was believed to be gasoline on the front porch of a home in the 600 block of Buoy Court.

The neighbor yelled at Rogers, who then left the scene, according to the fire marshal.

The Harford County Sheriff’s Office searched the area and following a brief foot chase, took Rogers into custody, the fire marshal reported.

Rogers was taken to the Harford County Detention Center, where he was being held on $100,000 bond, the report said.

According to the fire marshal, Rogers attempted to burn a neighbor’s front porch after a dispute over a domestic issue.
