Einstein Bagels in Bel Air Temporarily Closed Following Fire

The Office of the State Fire Marshal gave information on cause, damage in bagel shop blaze.

Discarded cigarettes ignited a fire at Einstein Bros Bagels Sunday that resulted in the restaurant’s temporary closure and caused thousands of dollars in damage, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

At 3:56 p.m. on Sunday, the restaurant’s general manager discovered the fire outside the bagel shop in the 600 block of Marketplace Drive, the fire marshal reported.

Discarded cigarettes had ignited mulch, according to the report, which said the cause was ruled accidental.
