Electrical Fire Causes $150K Damage To Bel Air Home: State Fire Marshal

An electrical fire has caused $150K damage to a Bel Air home, according to the State Fire Marshal's Office. Four people have been displaced.

The two-story Cape Cod style home at 2450 Conowingo Rd. in Bel Air sustained $150,000 in damage and loss of contents. The majority of the fire was contained to the bedroom but these was extensive damage throughout the home.

BEL AIR, MD — Fifty firefighters battled a bedroom blaze in a two-story Bel Air home Wednesday night.

The fire in a second floor bedroom was discovered by the home's owner, Donna Gursky. She and her granddaughter were home at the time the fire broke out around 5:45 p.m. It took firefighters approximately 10 minutes to rein in the fire, according to the State Fire Marshal's Office, which has been linked to an electrical failure.

The two-story Cape Cod style home at 2450 Conowingo Rd. in Bel Air sustained $150,000 in damage and loss of contents. The majority of the fire was contained to the bedroom but there was extensive smoke, soot and water damage throughout the home, the State Fire Marshal's Office reported.
