Elkton Man Arrested In Hit-And-Run Of Bicyclist On Hatem Memorial Bridge: MDTA
An Elkton man has been arrested in connection to a hit-and-run Sunday night involving a bicyclist on the Hatem Memorial Bridge, police say.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — An Elkton man has been arrested in connection to Sunday night's crash involving a bicyclist on the Thomas J. Hatem Memorial Bridge.
At 5:57 p.m. on Sunday, Maryland Transportation Authority police officers were called to the Hatem Bridge for a report of a crash. Officers found a man with non-life-threatening injuries who was taken to a hospital for treatment and released. The driver of the vehicle that hit the bicyclist in the westbound lanes did not stay at the scene, according to officers.
After reviewing evidence including crash debris and video, officers identified a suspect vehicle and potential suspect. Shortly before 1 p.m. yesterday, MDTA police officers found the suspect vehicle, a Ford F-250 pickup truck, and the suspect, 53-year-old Elkton resident David A. Adams. Officers took Adams into custody without incident. Adams faces multiple charges related to the crash including failure to stop at a crash involving bodily injury and negligent driving, according to the MDTA.
