Emergency Sirens Tested At Peach Bottom Atomic Power Plant Wednesday

Nearly 100 emergency warning sirens tired to the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Plant will be tested Wednesday at 1 p.m.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — The Peach Bottom Atomic Power Plant in Delta, Pennsylvania, will be conducting a full-volume test of their 97 emergency warning sirens at approximately 1 p.m. today, Dec. 7.

The sirens are located within a 10-mile radius of the plant. An alert sent by the Harford County Government clarified that there is no emergency or a need for people to evacuate, although pets should be brought inside.

Constellation Energy, the plant’s owner, noted that the tests take place two times a year. Constellation said the sirens are not used as a signal to evacuate, but rather as a warning to tune to a local Emergency Alert Broadcast on television or radio.
