Engine Fire Destroys BMW, Garage Of Bel Air Home: State Fire Marshal
The engine of a 2014 BMW 528i caught on fire Tuesday while parked in the garage of a Bel Air home, causing $150,000 in damage.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A vehicle caught on fire Tuesday while parked in the garage attached to a two-story single-family home. The estimated loss totaled $150,000.
The fire broke out shortly after 11:30 a.m. at the brick home located at 1311 Locust Lane in Bel Air. The vehicle, a 2014 BMW 528i, experienced an engine compartment fire, according to the Maryland State Fire Marshal's Office.
Thirty firefighters from the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company worked together to reign in the fire, which took approximately 20 minutes to control.

According to the homeowner, he heard a popping sound from the garage and found smoke rolling out from under the hood. He attempted to push the car out of the garage but the fire quickly spread. The homeowner and his adult daughter were able to escape safely.
