Essex Man Charged in Attempted Robbery in Edgewood: Sheriff
The man allegedly shot employee at pawn shop.

An Essex man faces attempted first-degree murder and other charges in connection with an armed robbery attempt in Edgewood that involved a shooting earlier this week, according to the Harford County Sheriff’s Office.
Antwon Lee Johnson, 31, of the unit block of Arbor Drive in Essex, was taken into custody Friday morning without incident, the sheriff’s office reported.
He was identified as the suspect in an armed robbery at Starlite Pawn during which there was a struggle and the pawn shop employee was shot in the arm on Wednesday, June 17, according to the report.

Officials said that the victim declined medical treatment, and Maryland State Police assisted deputies in canvassing the area after the incident, which was reported at 11:19 a.m. on Wednesday in the 1800 block of Pulaski Highway.
After investigation, Johnson was charged and taken to the Harford County Detention Center, according to the sheriff’s office.

Johnson is charged with attempted first-degree murder; attempted second-degree murder; firearm use in commission of a felony or violent crime; first-degree assault; second-degree assault; armed robbery; robbery; attempted theft less than $1,000; possession of a firearm with felony conviction; and reckless endangerment.
