speaker for the Spring Historical Society lecture personally interviewed
numerous Distinguished Flying Cross recipients from these conflicts and more .
He will speak about these experiences and the amazing stories he gathered for
his book On Heroic Wings: Stories of the Distinguished Flying Cross. Dr. Barry Lanman is the co author of this extensively illustrated book along
with Dr. Laura M. Wendling. He is the Director of the Martha Ross Center for
Oral History and a professor at University of Maryland Baltimore County.
Concurrently, he serves as the historian for the Distinguished Flying Cross
Society.
