The Havre de Grace ARTS Commission sponsors Alash Ensemble from Tuva, Russia, the geographical center of Asia,which borders Siberia and Mongolia, a land long hidden from the rest of the world.  This group of 4 Master Throat Singers is on tour performing the art of their ancient, cultural, traditional sung-stories using hand made, unique instrumentation.

Throat Singers were nomadic, herding horsemen without a written language.  They communicated thru the night using "overtone" singing a remarkable technique of producing multiple pitches or chords with one voice creating the sounds of their natural surrondings: the streams, wind, birds and horses moving about the barren, vast permafrost lands.

This is a "must see" performance
