Soprano Stacey Mastrian returns to her native Bel Air to
present a recital of songs and arias in Italian, French, German, Spanish, and English. The event is free, although donations are welcome. The program's flexible format will allow audience members to choose the order in which the
pieces are sung. Repertoire will include traditional classical works for voice and piano as well as songs by American composers of our day. Composers represented will be Barber, Granados, Milhaud, Mozart, Oldham, Purcell, Rorem, Strauss, Vercoe, Verdi, Walker, and Wolf.
Stacey Mastrian, a “sweet, shimmering soprano” (The Washington Post), who is “versatile and passionate” (Der Tagesspiegel), has been a Fulbright Grantee, Beebe Fellow, and Richard F. Gold Career Grant recipient. Her recent
performance at the Frederick Loewe Theatre in New York City was praised by the New York Times for “intensity, focus and a warm, passionate sound.” She has
sung at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, as well as in Rome, Berlin, Montreal, and across the U.S. Dr. Mastrian teaches at Peabody Conservatory and American University. More information can be found at www.staceymastrian.com
