Fallston Man Found Guilty Of Rape, False Imprisonment, Assault: Prosecutor
A Harford County man has been found guilty of rape, false imprisonment, assault and reckless endangerment by a jury.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A 52-year-old Fallston man has been convicted after a three-day jury trial of two-counts of second-degree rape, false imprisonment, reckless endangerment and two counts of second-degree assault.
The victim testified at trial that she secured a protective order against Garry Lamonte Pendleton on July 11, 2022, after Pendleton sexually assaulted her July 8, 2022. The Harford County Sheriff’s Office investigated the complaint and determined that Pendleton initially threatened her with a firearm while inside of a vehicle parked at the Maryland State Police Bel Air Barracks.
The victim was able to deescalate the situation but felt like she had no choice but to go back to her residence with him, according to testimony provided by the victim at the trial. While at her home, the victim testified that Pendleton forced her to have sex with her more than once. Several firearms, including a handgun registered to Pendleton, were found during a search of the home by the Sheriff’s Office on July 13, 2022.

Pendleton faces up to 20 years’ incarceration for each count of second-degree rape, 10 years for each count of second-degree assault, five years for reckless endangerment and anything that is not cruel and unusual punishment for false imprisonment, according to the prosecutor.
“In just over two short months since I took office, this is the third sexual assault case that our office has taken to trial and received convictions. Yet another victim trusted our team of dedicated prosecutors and support staff to seek justice on their behalf. We will continue to work hard to serve victims and the citizens of Harford County by removing these violent predators from the community," said State’s Attorney Alison M. Healey.
