Famous Dave's Closes Doors In Bel Air After 7 Years

BEL AIR, MD - Famous Dave's has shuttered in Bel Air. Those who call the restaurant are directed to go to the nearest location in the franchise, which is in Owings Mills.

While the business reportedly has more than 100 restaurants across the U.S., it has closed eight restaurants so far this year in an effort to switch company-owned entities to franchisee-owned restaurants and to shed under-performing locations. It was not immediately available what prompted this week's shuttering of the restaurant off US 1 at MD 24 in Harford County.

When Patch covered the Famous Dave's grand opening in September 2010, company officials said that the business in Bel Air set a record for sales.

The barbecue restaurant off Baltimore Pike closed Wednesday night, The Aegis reported, and the signs had been taken off the building by Friday.
