Faulty Space Heater Sparks Bedroom Fire In Darlington Home: Official
A space heater experienced an electrical failure and sparked a fire in the bedroom of a Darlington home, according to the state fire marshal

DARLINGTON, MD — A fire broke out in a bedroom at a two-story single family home in Darlington late Tuesday night.
Firefighters with the Level Volunteer Fire Company arrived at the home at 3118 Harmony Church Rd. shortly after 10 p.m. to find a fire in the second floor bedroom that was discovered by the residents.
According to the fire department, the residents smelled smoke and found the fire in a bedroom. The door to the room was closed and 911 was called, which helped contain the fire. More than 30 firefighters got the fire under control within five minutes. The fire has been blamed on the electrical failure of a space heater, according to the state fire marshal's office.

Investigators say the home sustained $25,000 damage and there was $25,000 loss of contents.
