Fire On Schucks Road Broke Out Amid Scorching Temps

The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company and the Abingdon Fire Company handled a field fire Monday during a heat advisory.

BEL AIR, MD — Officials said fire broke out at a field on Schucks Road Monday afternoon. Temperatures were in the triple digits on the heat index, and the region was under a heat advisory as firefighters handled the call.

Crews from Bel Air and Abingdon responded to the blaze, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

One engine and one brush truck assisted, Gardiner said.
