Fight At Harford Tech Basketball Game Under Investigation: Sheriff
BREAKING: A fight that started as a war of words among players in Bel Air developed into a physical fight with spectators, authorities said.

BEL AIR, MD — A boy was knocked unconscious during an altercation at Harford Technical High School Tuesday night that started at a boys basketball game, according to the Harford County Sheriff's Office.
The boy gained consciousness as he was transported to a local hospital, officials said.
Authorities are investigating the incident, which began with players and developed into an altercation among those attending the game. Officials said as of 10 p.m. that they had not made any arrests, and no property was damaged.

The altercation began at 7:34 p.m., when deputies providing security at the basketball game between Harford Tech and Elkton High School intervened to quell a "verbal altercation among players from opposing teams," the sheriff's office said in a statement.
However, that did not put a stop to the tension, and spectators got into a physical fight, officials reported.

Deputies requested backup and with assistance from allied agencies, cleared the gymnasium.
"During the exchange, a juvenile male was knocked unconscious," officials reported. "No additional injuries were reported and no property was damaged. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing."

On February 28, 2017 at 7:34 p.m., deputies from the Harford County Sheriff's Office providing security for a boys basketball game between Harford Technical High School and Elkton High School intervened in a verbal altercation among players from opposing teams. The initial altercation evolved and persons attending the game became involved in a physical altercation. Deputies requested additional assistance to respond to Harford Technical High School in an effort to clear thegymnasium. Additional deputies, with assistance from allied agencies, quickly cleared the gymnasium of agitators. During the exchange, a juvenile male was knocked unconscious. He was subsequently transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. He was conscious and alert upon transport. No additional injuries were reported and no property was damaged. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
