‘Fight Song’ Light Show Dedicated to Recovering Addicts

Jim Kurtz, who has delighted audiences with his Christmas display for the past five years—and received national attention for his rendition of “Call Me Maybe” in 2012—has introduced a dedication for 2015.

“We’d like to bring focus to the tens of thousands of Americans who suffer from the disease of addiction. Try to remember that their recovery from this disease is a lifelong battle,” says a voice before the lights come on to the tune of Fight Song, the fifth track in this year’s display. >>>read more.

Montgomery Officer Struck By Car Dies Thursday

A week after he was hit by a car driven by a suspected drunk driver, Montgomery County Police Officer Noah Leotta, 24, has died from his injuries.

The police department announced Leotta’s death Thursday morning. The Montgomery County native was injured Dec. 3 during a traffic stop on Rockville Pike as part of a holiday task force fighting drunk driving. >>>read more.
