Fire Activity in Forest Hill Prompts Road Closure

There was a garage fire reported in the area, according to Harford County fire officials.

First responders asked that citizens avoid an area in Forest Hill Sunday night due to fire activity.

A detached garage was on fire in the 1300 block of Boggs Road, reported before 8 p.m., according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.

Boggs Road was closed between Grafton Shop Road and Highpoint Road, according to the report.

Crews from several fire companies responded, as well as the Harford County Hazmat Team and the Office of the State Fire Marshal, Gardiner said.

By 8:29 p.m., Gardiner said the fire was declared under control. Nobody was injured, he reported.

Because fire department personnel would be at the scene for an extended period of time, citizens were asked to avoid the area.
