At 10:30 a.m., firefighters responded to the 100 block of South Lynbrook Road, where a homeowner smelled smoke and found it was coming from the front door, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

The fire marshal ruled the blaze accidental, tracing it to an electrical failure of wiring in the wall.
Authorities said there was $5,000 in structural damage to the house, where the fire was contained to a small area outside the front door.
