Fire Causes $100K Damage To Detached Garage In Harford County: Official

A fire has caused $100,000 in damage to a detached garage located in Churchville, reports the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

It took nearly three dozen firefighters approximately 30 minutes to reign in the fire  at 2940 Grafton Lane in Churchville, which caused around $100,000 in damages to the structure and contents.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A detached garage caught on fire Saturday night at 2940 Grafton Lane in Churchville. A Level Volunteer Fire Company firefighter sustained a minor injury that he didn't discover until returning to the fire department, but he refused treatment.

The fire broke out shortly after 10 p.m. Sept. 23. The fire at the 24x40-foot detached garage was discovered by the property owner, Robert McLewee. It took nearly three dozen firefighters approximately 30 minutes to reign in the fire, which caused around $100,000 in damages to the structure and contents.

The preliminary cause of the fire appears to be an unspecified electrical failure, according to the Maryland Office of the Fire Marshal.
