Fire Intentionally Set Inside Joppa Home Hallway: Maryland State Fire Marshal
State fire officials believe a fire was intentionally set inside a Joppa home, causing about $10,000 in damage.
JOPPA, MD — Investigators believe a house fire was purposely set in a Joppa home Saturday shortly after 9 p.m.
A passerby discovered the fire in the home, which is located at 604 Winesap Court. The fire caused about $10,000 damage, according to the State Office of the Fire Marshal.
The Joppa-Magnolia Fire Company responded to the emergency call about the fire and around 20 firefighters spent 10 minutes reining in the fire, which was set in an interior hallway.

State fire officials described the blaze as incendiary in nature, meaning it was intentionally set under circumstances where it should not have been ignited.
