Fire In Pylesville Ruled Accidental
About 20 firefighters helped extinguish the blaze at a home in Pylesville Wednesday morning, the Office of the State Fire Marshal said.

PYLESVILLE, MD — An accidental fire caused $3,000 in damage Wednesday to a Pylesville home, according to investigators. The blaze began in a wall, the fire marshal reported.
The homeowner discovered the fire in the 1900 block of Neal Road at 11:28 a.m. on Wednesday, March 6, officials said.
He and his son had heard a noise coming from the wall. Then they saw smoke and tried to put out the fire themselves, according to the fire marshal.

About 20 firefighters, led by Norrisville Volunteer Fire Company, responded and contained the fire to the wall, bringing it under control within 10 minutes, officials reported.

The fire marshal determined a flue pipe had ignited the interior wall space.
There was $2,500 in structural damage to the home, officials estimated, and about $500 worth of items inside were also damaged.
Nobody was injured, and the homeowner was able to remain in the home, the fire marshal said.
