Fire Off Route 22 Was Transformer: Bel Air VFC

BEL AIR, MD — Volunteer firefighters from Bel Air handled an early morning call off Route 22 Wednesday, officials reported. A transformer fire had erupted at the McDonald's near Schucks Road, according to Rich Gardiner of the Bel Air Volunteer Fire Company.

Crews responded in the early morning hours of Wednesday, Jan. 9, Gardiner said.

After about an hour, he said Bel Air firefighters cleared the scene while BGE handled the utility issues associated with the incident.
