There was $60,000 in damage from Sunday's blaze in Harford County, the fire marshal reported.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A house fire drew crews from Maryland and Pennsylvania to Street on Sunday afternoon, officials said. Two people were displaced by the blaze, according to authorities, who said it caused $60,000 in damage.

At 3:55 p.m., the homeowner's son discovered the fire at the residence in the 700 block of Highland Road and tried to put it out with a fire extinguisher, officials said; but the blaze quickly spread beyond his control.

At 4 p.m., the Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company led about 50 firefighters from Harford and York counties at the scene, according to Rich Gardiner, spokesman for the Harford County Volunteer Fire and EMS Association.
