BALTIMORE, MD — A Harford County man has been charged in the murder of a volunteer firefighter in Baltimore City, according to police.
Daniel Green, 35, of the 2100 block of Harkins Road in Norrisville, was arrested at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 5, police said. He was taken into custody without incident.
Green is charged with first-degree murder and is awaiting an appearance before the commissioner, the Baltimore Police Department reported Wednesday morning.

The charges stem from the death of a Baltimore man who volunteered for several fire companies and was set to begin in the Baltimore City Fire Academy later this month.
Jon Hickey, 31, was found fatally shot at his apartment in the 1800 block of East Pratt Street on Nov. 30, according to police.

Police were called to Hickey's home after his girlfriend had not heard from him in two days and noticed his car had not moved, according to WBAL.
The motive for the murder was domestic in nature, Detective Donny Moses said.
Homicide detectives reviewed video footage, combed through physical evidence and interviewed potential witnesses, and police said their investigation led them to Green. He was arrested by the warrant apprehension task force.
Green was a career firefighter from 2002 to 2013 with the Prince George's County Fire Department, according to The Baltimore Sun.
