Fireworks Damage Items on Abingdon Deck: Fire Marshal

Officials said illegal fireworks caused $300 in damage on the Fourth of July at a townhouse in Harford County.

Abingdon, MD — Fireworks damaged patio items overnight in Abingdon during the holiday weekend, according to the Office of the State Fire Marshal.

On the Fourth of July, a homeowner in the 3900 block of Bush Court found a rug and umbrella on his back deck had been marred.

There was approximately $300 in damage to the items behind the middle-of-the-group townhouse.

The owner contacted authorities after 10 a.m. on Monday, July 4, and the fire marshal determined that illegal fireworks were the cause. The homeowner had reportedly heard fireworks overnight in the area.

Nobody was injured in the incident.
