Flaming Vehicle Snarled Traffic On MD 24: Officials

Traffic was impacted in both directions of Route 24 Friday afternoon, the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company reported.

ABINGDON, MD — A vehicle fire on MD 24 temporarily blocked part of the road Friday afternoon.

At 12:25 p.m., first responders were called to MD 24 north at Singer Road, according to the Joppa-Magnolia Volunteer Fire Company. All lanes were blocked on northbound Route 24. In addition, there were delays on southbound Route 24 because of people watching.

One person, who refused medical transport, was evaluated by the Abingdon Fire Company, officials said.

After 3 p.m., Joppa-Magnolia reported that all lanes had reopened in the area.
