Flash Flood Warning in Harford County
Heavy rain expected with thunderstorms, according to the National Weather Service.

Dangerous wet weather is expected to arrive in the region today, bringing conditions for possible flooding, according to the National Weather Service.
A flash flood warning has been issued for the Harford County area until 7:30 pm.
“Doppler radar indicated very heavy rain of around two inches in northeastern Harford County,” according to the NWS statement. “Additional heavy rain of one to two inches has fallen further south near Fallston and Bel Air.”

Additional rainfall of one inch is possible near Bel Air, with one to four inches in northern Harford County. Flash flooding is likely.

A flash flood watch is in effect for the Harford County area from noon until 6 a.m. Tuesday as thunderstorms arrive and stick around through the night.
“Some of the storms will contain torrential downpours which may lead to flash flooding,” according to the NWS statement. “Hourly rainfall rates within the thunderstorms may exceed 1 to 2 inches per hour.”

Recent rainfall is expected to allow the stormwater runoff to collect, potentially causing rivers and creeks to rise rapidly and urban flooding.
Those potentially impacted are encouraged to monitor weather reports and be prepared.
