Flash Freeze Possible Overnight: National Weather Service
Drivers should be aware of the potential for rapidly changing conditions on roads in parts of Maryland, weather officials advise.

BALTIMORE, MD — Sleet falling overnight through Saturday morning may cause slippery road conditions, according to the National Weather Service. A cold front moving through the region overnight will deliver rain that changes to sleet and snow in central and western Maryland that could reach parts of the Baltimore-Washington suburbs, officials advised.
While little to no accumulation is expected in the Baltimore-Washington area, the combination of precipitation and rapidly dropping temperatures may result in a flash freeze on untreated surfaces, according to weather officials.
"Overnight and early Saturday morning motorists should monitor road conditions closely and exercise caution if sleet and snow begin falling," the National Weather Service said in a special weather statement Friday night.
