Flood Watch Issued For Much Of Maryland
The National Weather Service issued a flood watch for Maryland.
MARYLAND — A flood watch will take effect Thursday in parts of Maryland. Up to 3 inches of rain is possible, according to the National Weather Service.
Small streams and tributaries could flood, while moderate river flooding is also possible, the weather service advised.
Heavy rain is expected Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening. Rain totals are expected to be 1.5 to 2.5 inches, with up to 3 inches in some areas, according to the weather service.

The flood watch is in effect from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday and applies to Maryland as well as parts of Virginia and West Virginia. People who live in flood-prone areas should be prepared.
After Thursday, temperatures will trend upward, reaching the 60s and 70s over the weekend.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 71. Southeast wind 11 to 13 mph, with gusts as high as 21 mph. Scattered showers overnight, with a low around 60.
Thursday: Showers likely, then showers and possibly a thunderstorm after 2 p.m. Some storms may bring heavy rain with 1 to 2 inches possible during the day and 0.75 to 1 inch rain possible at night. High near 67 and low around 54 degrees. Breezy, with a southeast wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent.
Friday: Showers likely, mainly after 8 a.m. Cloudy, with a high near 65 and low near 52. Light west wind increasing to 5 to 9 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 68 and low around 53.
Sunday: A chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 74 and low near 57. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Monday: A chance of showers. Mostly sunny, with a high near 70 and low around 47. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent.
Tuesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.
