Forest Hill Man Charged in Burglary with Bat

Police said a man with a bat broke into a Bel Air bedroom and demanded money.

Bel Air, MD — A Forest Hill man is charged with burglary and other offenses in a home break-in over the weekend in Bel Air.

Tyler Mitchell Hoerr, 22, o the 500 block of Chestnut Hill Road, is accused of swinging a bat and demanding money from a resident in the unit block of South Kelly Avenue around 6:56 a.m. on Sunday, June 26.

Police said Hoerr took the victim's wallet after a struggle and left. Neither party was injured.

When authorities conducted a traffic stop on Hoerr's nearby vehicle, they found the victim's wallet inside along with a bat that may have been used in the assault.

Hoerr is charged with first, second and third-degree burglary; second-degree assault; and theft less than $5,000. He was arrested and booked Monday at the Harford County Detention Center.
