"Jerry Andrews fainted at the wheel and was thus T-boned by a heavy-duty pick up truck," according to the GoFundMe page for Andrews.

Andrews, 50, of Bel Air, had been driving north on Water Tower Way at the intersection of MD 23 when he passed out, did not stop at a stop sign, and was hit by a driver from White Hall, who was uninjured, Maryland State Police told Patch.

"CPR was administered, he was resuscitated and transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview, where the team in ICU worked to stabilize his condition," according to the GoFundMe page.

Once he was at Bayview, medical personnel found Andrews suffered multiple injuries.

"Upon arrival, a severe brain bleed was on the rise and several broken bones were discovered, including most ribs and a broken sternum due to CPR," according to the GoFundMe page. "We are beyond grateful that, although he faces a long road of recovery, he is still with us today."

Andrews works at MyEyeDr in Forest Hill and is married with three children, according to the GoFundMe campaign. He is known for putting a smile on people's faces.

The GoFundMe campaign was designed "to tide Jerry’s family through his path of healing," according to organizer Chelsea Kemper, his coworker at MyEyeDr.
