HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A Baltimore man who previously lived in Edgewood has been convicted for his involved in a non-fatal shooting that happened Jan. 31, 2022.

The non-fatal shooting took place at 3570 S. Hanover St. in Baltimore. Two men were shot and casings from a .380 firearm were recovered. A black Dodge Charger was identified as the suspect vehicle and William Quinton Yourman, 34, was identified as the shooter. An arrest warrant was issued for him as well as a search and seizure warrant for his home at the time, which was at 708 Stanford Ct. in Edgewood, according to court documents.

Yourman was arrested at his home Feb. 23, 2022, and several firearms were recovered from the home including a Tri Arms shotgun, Ruger AR-15 style rifle and a Keltec .380 handgun. Following a three-day trial, Yourman was convicted of illegal possession of a regulated firearm by a person convicted of a disqualifying crime, illegal possession of a rifle by a person convicted of a disqualifying crime, illegal possession of a shotgun by a person convicted of a disqualifying crime and illegal possession of ammunition by a person convicted of a disqualifying crime. The judge also revoked the defendant’s pre-trial release and remanded him into the custody of the Harford County Detention Center where he will await sentencing on Feb. 1. Yourman faces up to 46 years in prison and no possibility of parole, according to court documents.

"Harford County will have zero tolerance for those who perpetrate crimes through the illegal possession of firearms and those who are prohibited from possessing those firearms transporting them into Harford County. Because this defendant had previously been disqualified from possessing firearms due to his criminal record and further, is alleged to have used a firearm in the commission of another crime of violence in Baltimore City, his conviction in this case is a victory for public safety across the State," said Harford County State’s Attorney Alison M. Healey. "My office will always do the hard work that is required to remove these violent offenders from our communities. We will also always work cooperatively with neighboring jurisdictions to assist their investigations and to ensure that we do our part for not only Harford County’s safety, but the safety of all of our communities.”
