Free Emergency Preparedness Available To Harford County Residents

A free emergency preparedness class available to Harford County residents starts Oct. 11 and runs through Nov. 1.

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — A free Prepare Because You Care class available to Harford County residents will help them be ready for an emergency.

Hosted by the Harford Department of Emergency Services, this series of four classes will teach participants how to respond to a wide range of incidents or disasters. The next four-week session will be held on Wednesday evenings starting Oct. 11 through Nov. 1 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Edgewood Recreation & Community Center, 1980 Brookside Drive in Edgewood.

  • Making a disaster supply and emergency preparedness kit;
  • Fire safety for your home;
  • Basic crime prevention strategies and active assailant training;
  • Train to save a life-stop the bleed and CPR/AED training.
