Free Kites Available At 17th Annual Bel Air Kite Festival Planned For April 13
Residents are invited to attend the Bel Air Kite Festival scheduled for April 13. Free kites will be handed out while supplies last.
BEL AIR, MD — The 17th annual Bel Air Kite Festival will be April 13 in Rockfield Park with hundreds of kites to be handed out to eventgoers while supplies last.
That Saturday also has been declared Kite Day by the Bel Air Board of Town Commissioners.
This year’s Kite Festival runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and activities will be held on the athletic fields at Rockfield Park off of Churchville Road. Admission is free and people can bring their own kite or pick up a free kite if available. Food and drink vendors also will be on site, including Kona Ice, Cowboy Eats and Love.Crust.Pizza.

Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union has donated the free kites for eventgoers.
“This festival would not be possible without the support of Aberdeen Proving Ground Federal Credit Union and their generous donation,” said Mayor Paula Etting.

She also recognized the family and friends of festival co-founder Allen Ault, members of the Wings Over Washington Kite Club and members of the American Kitefliers Association as people who “generously donate their time and energy to make this festival extra special.”
A rain date will be April 14.
