With temperatures expected to dip below freezing, the National Weather Service gave tips for protecting plants and pipes.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Temperatures may drop below freezing overnight into Saturday morning, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a freeze watch for Harford and Baltimore counties. The freeze watch will be in effect from midnight to 9 a.m. Saturday, May 9.
Temperatures could drop as low as 31 degrees, according to the freeze watch, which applies to northern Baltimore County and northwest Harford County.
Sensitive vegetation could be killed due to the frost and freezing conditions, while outdoor plumbing may also be damaged if not protected, weather officials say.

"Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold," the National Weather Service advised. "To prevent freezing and possible bursting of outdoor water pipes they should be wrapped, drained, or allowed to drip slowly. Those that have in-ground sprinkler systems should drain them and cover above-ground pipes to protect them from freezing."
