Fundraiser in Memory of Andy Klein raises over $17K
Debbie's Mane Concern, in Forest Hill, held a community Cut-A-Thon raising over $17k for the Harford Crisis Center for Opioid Addiction.
Debbie’s Mane Concern hair salon in Forest Hill raised over $17,000.00 Sunday, April 28th, in a Cut-A-Thon to benefit the Harford Crisis Center for Opioid Addiction, in memory of Andy Klein. "Andy was a longtime client and friend of the salon," according to Debbie Huster, owner of Debbie's Mane Concern. Mr. Klein, president of Klein’s ShopRite of Maryland was killed in a multi-vehicle accident in Harford County on March 11, 2019.
Debbie’s fundraiser included vendors and services to include the Harford County Sheriff Office, who provided child fingerprinting and identification cards for children. Homer, the mascot of The Miracle League, greeted everyone with big smile and posed for pictures. The Miracle League, in partnership with Harford County Parks & Recreation is developing a baseball field that is dedicated to ensuring all children, of all abilities, have the chance to play baseball. The Bel Air Volunteer Fire Department entertained children and parents with fire hats and tours of their rigs. A number of silent auction items were available for bidders donated by the community and individuals. A number of vendors were on hand to support the event to include Pampered Chef, 31 Bags, Paparazzi Jewelry, Candie’s Creation Crafts, Young Living Essential Oils and Pit Beef by Backyard Beefstro. Pygmy and dwarf goats from Tall Pines Patch were a big hit for young and old.

The Harford Crisis Center is a behavioral health crisis center which provides 24-hour, 7 day a week crisis care for mental health and addiction issues for children and adults. Mr. Klein was an honorary chair of the Your Health, Our Mission: Caring for Our Families Together campaign where he was a visionary and leading proponent of the Harford Crisis Center.
