Ghost Gun, Marijuana Found In Car During Traffic Stop: Aberdeen Police
Aberdeen Police report finding a ghost gun and marijuana in a man's vehicle after he was stopped for a traffic violation.
ABERDEEN, MD — A 20-year-old suspect has been arrested after an Aberdeen police sergeant discovered a ghost gun and marijuana in his vehicle during a traffic stop.
The Aberdeen police sergeant stopped a vehicle driven by Dontrel Sheppard, 20, at Post Road and East Bel Air Avenue around 8:10 p.m. for a traffic violation. Police found a Polymer 80 handgunwithout a serial number, known as a ghost gun, and marijuana Sheppard was going to sell, police said.
Sheppard was arrested and faces multiple charges for firearm violations and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

"Over recent months, police have responded to numerous service calls in the eastern sector, specifically the area of Post Road and East Bel Air Avenue, for calls involving firearms and threats of violence. As a result, officers have been conducting proactive patrols, including foot patrols, business checks and traffic enforcement, to deter future violence," the police department stated.
