GoFundMe Created For Teen Fatally Stabbed In McDonald's Parking Lot

HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Following what police describe as a road rage incident, Kam “KJ” Faison was stabbed to death in the parking lot of a McDonald's. A GoFundMehas been created to help raise money for Faison's funeral. Nearly $6,000 has been donated out of a $10,000 goal.

Vernon Bradford organized the fundraiser and wrote that Faison was "a remarkable individual with an infectious personality."

"Many of us had the privilege of crossing paths with him in various capacities over the years. Your contribution, no matter the amount, would be deeply appreciated. All proceeds will be directed to Kam's parents to provide them with the assistance they need. Please know that your generosity will make a meaningful difference," Bradford wrote.

Police were called to the McDonald's at 802 Pulaski Highway for a report of a stabbing Aug. 21. Faison's injuries were described as severe by the police department and he was taken by Maryland State Police Medivac to Maryland Shock Trauma with critical injuries.

Detectives said the incident stemmed from road rage. The victim was in one car and the two suspects were in another, reported WBAL.

"The occupants of the vehicles were throwing things at each other, and they began following each other through the town," Havre de Grace police Cpl. Phil Goertz told WBAL.

The two cars crashed in the parking lot of the McDonald's and continued to damage each other's cars and exchange insults.

"Apparently, they lost sight of each other, and during our investigation, they found each other again at the McDonald's on Pulaski Highway. So, once they found each other, that's when the fight began," Goertz said.

Police said the victim walked around the drive-thru area but the suspects followed and stabbed him. There were several 911 calls placed by numerous witnesses.

"We had witnesses call us and say, 'Hey, we witnessed this occurring,'" Goertz said. "The witnesses were able to supply us with information that led us to the suspects. So, shortly after the assault occurred, our officers were able to take the two suspects into custody that are responsible for this."

Police said witnesses got the license plate number of the suspect vehicle, which officers found at its registered address with two 17-year-old suspects still sitting inside.
