HARFORD COUNTY, MD – A Harford County high school teacher has been awarded the 2020 Financial Education and Capability Award for success in financial education.

Austin Hill, who works at Edgewood High School, helps promote financial literacy within and outside of his program at the academy of finance by leveraging relationships outside of the school in order to create programming for students and the community.

Hill was honored this year for his work advocating financial education by incorporating local resources, connecting not only students within his class but all classes within the department to local credit unions and providing them with financial literacy events and lessons.
