Harford Community College Delays Opening on Wednesday, Jan. 11

BREAKING: Icy conditions were the cause for schedule change at Harford Community College, TUNE on Wednesday morning.

BEL AIR, MD — Drivers are advised to use caution Wednesday morning because of potentially icy roads, and those headed to Harford Community College will have some extra time to get there.

Both Harford Community College and Towson University, Northeastern Maryland will open at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 11.

Credit classes with one hour or more of instructional time left when the college opens will meet for the remaining time, according to Harford Community College officials, who advised students to check their HCC email.

After freezing rain fell overnight, transportation officials warned drivers of potentially hazardous conditions Wednesday morning.

"Icy spots are still possible," the Maryland Transportation Authority advised. "Approach what is wet as if it was ice. Bridges, overpasses & infrequently traveled roads will freeze first."
