Harford Community College Foundation Receives Cultural Events Grant From BGE

The Harford Community College Foundation, Inc. received a $20,000 grant from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE).

The Harford Community College Foundation, Inc. received a $20,000 grant from the Baltimore Gas and Electric Company (BGE) to support the 2015-2016 Family Performance Series at Harford Community College.

“BGE is a valued community partner, and because of their generosity, the College will be able to enhance the cultural event offerings available to the Harford, Cecil and Baltimore communities,” said Susan Nicolaides, director for Cultural Events and Performing Arts at Harford Community College. “We applaud their ongoing support of the College and their commitment to advancing the arts in the greater community.”

The Family Performance Series offers a wide range of multi-cultural and multi-generational family programming including Junie B.’s Essential Survival Guide to School; Harriet’s Happiest Halloween; The Nutcracker; A Christmas Carol; Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood Live!; The Jason Bishop Show; Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy, The Musical; The Young Irelanders; Charlotte’s Web; Skippyjon Jones Snow What (& The 7 Chihuahuas); Peter Pan; and Mary Poppins.

Again this year, the grant award will allow the College to provide complimentary tickets to local nonprofit organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs, SARC, Anna’s House, and the Harford Family House, giving those who utilize the services of these organizations a chance to enjoy cultural events at the College. In 2014, BGE’s support of the Family Performance Series afforded nearly 1,000 complimentary tickets to underserved populations in Harford County.
