Harford Community College Holding Virtual Graduation For 2020
A virtual graduation ceremony featuring speeches and selfie videos is planned for Harford Community College graduates.
BEL AIR, MD — Harford Community College will hold a virtual commencement May 21. Due to the new coronavirus pandemic, administrators moved the ceremony from in person to online. This year marks the 62nd annual commencement for the college.
Leaders from Harford Community College (HCC) and a student speaker will give remarks during the event, and graduating students can provide selfie videos with their personal stories for the virtual event.
"While we are sad to cancel our traditional Commencement ceremony, we hope that this virtual event will provide an opportunity for students to share their uplifting stories at a time when we could all use some inspiration," according to a statement from Harford Community College.

Gatherings of more than 10 people have been prohibited by executive order of the governor since March to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
"Planned large gatherings and events must be canceled or postponed until after termination of the state of emergency and the proclamation of the catastrophic health emergency has been rescinded," according to Gov. Larry Hogan's order. The state of emergency remains in effect.
