Harford County Bridge Closure Planned For Thursday-Friday, Detour Put In Place
Drivers should prepare to follow a detour Thursday into Friday when the MD 161 bridge over Deer Creek shuts down for repairs.
HARFORD COUNTY, MD — Drivers should plan for the temporary closure of the MD 161 bridge (Darlington Road) over Deer Creek in Harford County.
The bridge will close Thursday and a detour will be put in place from 9 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday.
At that time, crews will pour concrete on the bridge as part of the Maryland State Highway Administration’s $2.7 million project to rehabilitate and enhance safety on the bridge.

During the overnight bridge closure, motorists traveling on MD 161 between US 1 (Conowingo Road) and MD 155 (Level Road) can use US 1, MD 136 (Priestford Road) and MD 155 as a detour. In case of inclement weather, the bridge concrete work and detour will take place Sunday or later.
