EDGEWOOD, MD – The Harford County Sheriff’s Department is continuing to investigate a fatal shooting that took place on Saturday and that left a 22-year-old Edgewater man dead on Saturday afternoon.

Police found Christopher Smith outside the residences in the 600 block of Edgewood Road at 12:26 p.m. after Smith had been shot in the upper body, police said in a news release. Deputies immediately began life-saving measures before medics arrived and transported to Johns Hopkins Bayview, where Smith was pronounced deceased.

Police canvassed the area and included K-9 units in the search but did not include the apprehension of any suspects. An early investigation of the scene by forensic detectives determined that at this time, it does not seem as the shooting on Saturday is linked to a shooting and stabbing that occurred Friday in the same vicinity.
