Harford County Dump Truck Driver Killed In US 50 Crash: Police

A Harford County man died in a crash on the Eastern Shore on Wednesday, May 1.

QUEEN ANNE'S COUNTY, MD — Police said a Harford County dump truck driver was killed in a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning on US 50 in Queen Anne's County. He was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Terry Cox, 43, of White Hall, was on Route 50 west when the dump truck he was driving went off the left side of the road into the median and came to rest on its side, according to police. The truck had been carrying gravel and other debris, most of which authorities said spilled into the median.

Troopers said they were called to the crash on Route 50 west at Hissey Road at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, May 1.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team and Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division are conducting an investigation, which is ongoing. The cause of the crash has not been determined, police reported Wednesday afternoon.

Traffic was detoured around the crash site, and Route 50 remained closed at Hissey Road after noon.
