Harford County Offices to Open at 9 a.m. Friday Due to Pending Storm

Heavy rain and high winds expected because of Tropical Storm Debby Thursday night into Friday.

Harford County government offices will open at 9 a.m. Friday, August 9 due to heavy rain and high winds expected because of Tropical Storm Debby Thursday night into Friday.

The National Weather Service is calling for rainfall to begin Thursday with the potential for 2 to 4 inches of rain, with wind gusts from 40 to 50 mph and sustained winds of 20 to 25 mph.

“Driving could become hazardous and there’s a potential for power outages with this storm,” County Executive Bob Cassilly said. “I encourage all citizens to stay home if they can and secure any outdoor items that may be blown around by the wind. Charge your cellphones and other devices now in case you lose power. Have a plan for your family and stay safe. If you must be out and you encounter a flooded road, remember to ‘turn around, don’t drown.’”
