Harford County Public School Calendar 2017-18: First Day, Vacations, Conferences

BEL AIR, MD - The first day of school in Harford County is Sept.5. Students will join others across the state in going back to school after Labor Day, following an executive order by Gov. Larry Hogan.

Harford County Public Schools has released its 2017-2018 calendar, including important dates like winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences. Also check out the school bus schedule.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

August

• Thursday, Aug. 24, to Friday, Aug. 25: New Teachers on Duty
• Monday, Aug. 28, to Thursday, Aug. 31: All Teachers on Duty - Professional Development

September

• Friday, Sept. 1: All Teachers on Duty - Professional Development
• Monday, Sept. 4: Holiday - Schools & Offices Closed
• Tuesday, Sept. 5: Opening of Schools for Students K-12
• Thursday, Sept. 7: Opening of Schools for Pre-K Students
• Friday, Sept. 15: Three-hour Early Dismissal for all Students
• Thursday, Sept. 21: Rosh Hashanah Holiday - Schools & Offices Closed

October

• Thursday, Oct. 19: Three-hour Early Dismissal for all Students
• Friday, Oct. 20: MSEA Convention - Schools Closed

November

• Thursday, Nov. 9: Three-hour Early Dismissal for all Students; 1st Quarter Ends
• Friday, Nov. 10: Professional Development/Elementary Conferences - Schools Closed for Students
• Monday, Nov. 13: 2nd Quarter Begins
• Wednesday, Nov. 22: Three-hour Early Dismissal for Schools & Offices
