Harford County Delay, Closing Information

Schools and other agencies made adjustments based on weather.

Public schools in Harford County are closed Monday. Code Blue employees are to report at noon.

Previously, Harford County Public Schools announced that there would be a two-hour delay on Monday, Jan. 12, but changed the decision to a closure at approximately 7 a.m.

In addition to schools being closed, after school and evening activities at Harford County Public Schools are canceled.

Much of the state including Harford County was under a freezing rain advisory Monday morning, and roads were icy.

The Maryland Transportation Authority reported that there were “dangerous driving conditions on many roads this morning,” at approximately 7:30 a.m.

Other Delays

Harford County Government will open at normal business hours on Monday, Jan. 12, with liberal leave in effect for county employees. Critical employees must report in accordance with the policies established in their departments.

Liberal leave is in effect for state of Maryland employees starting at 6 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 12, until the end of the day shift. Essential emergency personnel should report to work on time.

Federal government offices in the D.C. area are opening two hours late on Monday and employees have the option for unscheduled leave or unscheduled telework.
