Harford County Seeks Public Input on Use of Opioid Restitution Funds
Five listening sessions will be held around the county to gather public input on the best use of opioid restitution funds in the community

Harford County will be hosting several listening sessions to gather public input on the best use of opioid restitution funds in the community.
The funds are being distributed by the state of Maryland to Harford and other jurisdictions through the state’s Opioid Restitution Fund. The fund was established to receive settlement payments from legal actions taken against pharmaceutical companies and pharmacies that contributed to the opioid epidemic.
A total of five sessions will be held at the following locations:

“Opioid addiction has destroyed lives throughout our county, our state, and the nation,” County Executive Bob Cassilly said. “We want to hear our residents’ suggestions on how settlement funds can best be used to help prevent further harm and bring healing to those who are struggling with addiction.”

Individuals who wish to speak will have 3 minutes to convey their recommendations. Registration is required at www.harfordcountymd.gov/OpioidFundPublicInput. Written
comments are also welcome and can be submitted to 15 S. Main Street, Bel Air, MD 21014 or housingagency@harfordcountymd.gov.
The listening sessions will help determine a framework and next steps for the use of funds in Harford County.
